The first three things you
must co-ordinate are: a. The availability of the place
where you will exchange your
vows, b. And the availability of your marriage officiant.
c. The reception facility if you are going to have one Whether you get married in a church, synagogue, a resort, a park
or wherever. These three major actions should be in
place before further planning. Many reception halls and resorts
require a year advance notice. If your plans include a particular
minister or marriage officiant, look into their availability as soon as
possible. Many are booked six months to a year in advance.
But, it is imperative that these three steps match up and be in place first
before proceeding with your plans.
Below is the rest of the
check list: There may be others you may want to include.
But these are basically the standard procedures to performing an
outstanding wedding...

Choose the bridesmaid dresses.
Take in consideration the time of year you are having your wedding.
Pastels are great or Spring. Your darker colors for Winter. And of course fall colors for fall such as rose, deep yellows, and greens. Allow plenty of time if dresses have to be ordered, just in case
alterations need to be done. This often happens when one of the bridesmaids happen to gain or lose weight. Don't forget their jewelry. It's nice if all their jewelry is matching.
Singer and/or Music for Wedding Service: Optional.
Some choose instrumentals or tape recordings as well. Book early if you have someone in
mind.
Photographer: Again,
reserve you photographer as soon as possible. Especially if your wedding is in the spring and summer. They book
fast!
Wedding Food Service:
This again is pertinent. Co-ordinate this where ever you
are having your reception. If you want your own service, be sure you
are
allowed to bring in your own service. Registry: Chose
your stores. Example: Department stores, electronics, home, furniture
whereever you wish to receive as gift.

Flowers: Perhaps
you want to consider blending or matching your bridesmaids dress colors. Keep in mind the rest of your decor, such as table decorations if you are going to have them.
Order flowers for bridesmaids, boutonnieres for groomsmen and ring
bearer, flowers for flower girl and perhaps for her hair and basket, church or place of wedding, and
tables at reception including the bridal table.
Cakes:
You may want to have more than one cake, such as a bridal and a grooms cake. Often the grooms cake is smaller and is chocolate flavored
and the brides is usually a white cake. But this certainly is not set in
stone. Ask your cake specialist what your options are: I have seen some
beautiful and delicious options, such as lemon or cherry fillings inside the bridal
cake. Don't forget the mints, nuts, coffee, tea (iced if warm weather). These items may be provided by your food service, so check.
Fountain/and or Ice Sculptures: Again optional, they are pretty if they are in your budget.
Invitations: This can be a creative project. You and you fiancé perhaps can write a special verse to include in the invite.
REMEMBER: Return Guest Cards

the colors chosen for your bridesmaid dresses. Don't forget the return cards for guests to reply to the reception if you are counting
